2007 is the sixth year Firestone Complete Auto
Care has sponsored Keep America Beautiful and its Great American
Cleanup.
We donated thousands of man-hours, supplies and
materials for Great American Cleanup volunteers, and financially
supported the program's efforts around the nation.
Firestone Complete Auto Care stores and facilities participate
locally in Great American Cleanup events, or take the initiative to
organize their own community cleanups across the country.
results
Firestone Complete Auto Care stores were part
of the united, nationwide effort that collected more than 288 million
pounds of litter and other debris during thousands of cleanup events.
Our stores also collected do-it-yourselfer
motor oil for proper disposal and recycling, and donated the use of wood
chippers to turn downed branches and debris into mulch.
We participated in the collection, removal and proper disposal
of 2.5 million scrap tires and 118,000 car batteries collected
during community cleanup events.
One example of Firestone's effort is when Firestone Complete
Auto Care teammates helped to clean up a part of hurricane-ravaged
Biloxi, Mississippi, also contributing gloves, hats and food for
the other event volunteers.
