Fuel Injector Cleaner

Fuel system cleaning services to keep your car running newer, longer.

FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING SERVICES

Help improve engine performance and gas mileage with a fuel system cleaning service from Firestone Complete Auto Care. Because the filter, fuel pump, and fuel injectors are all part of an interconnected system, these parts may build up dirt and debris. A fuel system cleaning is done to help clean out built up of debris in your fuel system and to help clean carbon deposits off your intake valves. A clogged fuel system can damage other engine parts, which can quickly lead to deteriorated performance and fuel economy.

DO YOU NEED A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING?

Because the filter, pump and fuel injectors are all part of an interconnected system, dirt and debris can clog one part of the fuel system. The largest component of a fuel system cleaning is decarbonizing the intake valves by running the cleaner through the intake system. If not regularly maintained, this can lead to poor fuel economy, power loss, rough idle, hard starting, knocking/ pinging, and increased emissions. These are just a few reasons why we highly recommend coming in for an annual fuel system cleaning or as suggested by your vehicle manufacturer and your vehicle owner's manual.

How does a fuel system work?

Inside most modern vehicles, you'll find a fuel system that consists of a fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel injectors. These three critical components work together to make sure that fuel travels from the fuel tank, to your engine's fuel injectors, and atomizes perfectly into the engine. This allows the correct air / fuel mixture to optimally combust upon spark and power your vehicle.

OUR FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING WILL HELP:

  • Clean the fuel system
  • Clean the fuel injection system
  • Lubricate valves, cylinders, injectors, and rings
  • Remove varnish, dirt, carbon and other deposits from the throttle body and throttle plate
  • Lubricate the throttle body and throttle moving parts with a corrosion inhibitor to prevent scoring and future deposit buildup
  • Dissolve deposits from the engine’s intake manifold and runners, valves, and combustion chambers with a two-stage intake deposit cleaner
  • Leave residual engine cleaner in the engine to soften hard carbon deposits over time and reduce long term build-up in catalytic convertor

Engine tune-up parts and replacement components are available at Firestone Complete Auto Care.

DO I NEED A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING?

There are a few things to note when components of your fuel system get too dirty or worn out. A failing, damaged or worn out fuel pump can produce several problems within your fuel system. Bad fuel pump symptoms can include:

  • A decrease in fuel pressure
  • Your engine may sputter at faster speeds
  • A loss of power when your car is straining
  • You notice a decrease in gas mileage

It may be time for a fuel system cleaning if:

  • Your car has a rough idle
  • You notice a decrease in gas mileage
  • The RPM needle moves sporadically

Any of these symptoms can be a sign that your vehicle's fuel system needs cleaning. If you notice one or more of these signs, schedule an appointment at Firestone Complete Auto Care for a diagnosis.
