Rated 5 out of 5 by from Front End Alignment I had an appointment first thing in the morning to avoid the rush of the day. My vehicle was taken into the servie bay quickly and before I could finish my breakfast next door I received a call that my vehicle was complete. Excellent service and very fast in accomplishing the task.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Service Checks Had wife's car serviced, shortly after she asked if I would check the fluid in the washer for windshield. I explained that fluid levels were part of the service @ FIRESTONE.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Normally, I'm very happy with my service. Had new 4 new tires installed, rear brake pads, and rear brake rotors installed. when driving home noticed my truck shifted down to a lower gear twice when going up a hills. This is not normal. 5 days later needed to use truck so started it up and it usually backs up and out of the garage at idle speed without touching the accelerator, but my truck wouldn't even move at idle speed. Then I knew the new brakes were engaged. Called Firestone and told them brakes were dragging. I brought it in and was told the pads would be replaced under warranty but I would have to have the new rotors ground and two new calipers installed at a cost of $ 357.98. Was not happy to have my brand new rotors ground down and now pay for new calipers that were fine when the brakes were installed. This brake job, which I had not planned on originally as I was going in to buy tires, cost me a total of $1183.94 on the two rear wheels only.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed for the first time! In all fairness, the mechanic who worked on my car was not someone I had seen in the past. What troubled me was that the service manager who followed up with me that day was supporting the mechanic rather than questioning things. This is my story: I brought my car in because I had seen a "drop or two" of oil on my garage floor and we were planning a cross country trip. I asked that they check the oil issue...and change the oil. The call came later that day that there were three major problems. The repairs would cost around $1,400-$1,500. I was told my water pump was bad, the oil leak was from one of my head gaskets and my power steering fluid was leaking. I said I would be right over and they were to do nothing. I wanted to see and hear what they were talking about. The mechanic was called over to show me the problems. He was not able to show me the sound he said he heard on the water pump. (I was suspicious because the water pump had been replaced at a different location two months earlier.) I heard nothing unusual, nor did the service manager, but he said he heard it earlier. He also showed me a huge amount of oil below the engine on other mechanical parts. I couldn't believe all that oil only produced one or two drops on my garage floor. It appeared to be blown back with many droplets hanging down, I wasn't able to see any evidence of power steering fluid leaking. I paid for my oil change and took my car. I went directly to the mechanic who replaced the water pump several months earlier and asked him to check the car over. The water pump was fine and continues to be fine. He reported that the head gasket leak was very minor and he didn't see a reason to repair it before we took our trip. He advised that we check the oil level from time to time along the way, and if necessary make the repair on our trip. We traveled over 5,000 highway and city miles without an issue with the oil, water pump or power steering fluid. I replaced less than a cap full of oil as we began our trip back to Knoxville. Only a drop or two were noticed under the car overnight as we traveled. The power steering fluid level has not changed since it was first reported and there have been no problems with any of these systems. The second mechanic only observed a small amount of fluid around the base of the power steering pump when he checked the car. He advised that it didn't appear to be a major problem. The car is a 1999 Camry with less than 50K miles. I really try to pay attention to the sounds of the car and always take great care of my vehicles. If I didn't have the level of knowledge that I do have, I could have easily been frightened into making costly repairs that didn't need to be made. In the past I have had most oil changes and tire service done at this location. I also had my tires rotated and the allignment checked during this visit. Occasionally I have had other repairs done here as well. After this experience I will have to rethink if they will continue to get my business.
