Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Service I have been using Firestone for a number of years and I'm overall satisfied with the service they provide. There have been several changes in the store management since I've been going there but some of the managers really need some additional training in customer service. I understand it's a business and the object is to be profitable, but that's not a statement a store manager should ever say to a customer. I mention this in reference to my being a "platinum" rewards member and was in the store for tires. The manager on duty at the time seemed to be irritated when I questioned him about sales promotions for tires because of the current promotion at the time, they were out of stock of the brand for my vehicle. He made no attempt see if he could come up with an alternative deal for me, would not contact other stores to see if they have the tires in stock, simply said, I would have to call other stores myself. My point is, for longtime customer, for rewards members and in general for anyone walking into the store for service, they should be made welcome and store staff should always be looking to make the experience as pleasant as possible. The money will be made if the customer comes back!!! Now don't get me wrong, there are several on the management staff that are very good and for that reason, I only go for service when I know they'll be there. That's not a good sign from a sales standpoint. Being in sales myself as a regional manager, I truly understand the lifetime value of my customers and always doing what I can to help them and resolve their concerns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality service I took my car in for a new battery. While there, I also had an oil change, tire rotation, wheel alignment and winter service check. All items were completed in a timely manner. During the winter service check, the technician found that my fan belt needed adjustment and he tightened the fan belt. This resulted in an extra charge of $44.00. Since this was a repair that was not originally requested, and resulted in an extra charge, I was surprised that I was not consulted about the fan belt and asked if I wanted to pay to have the belt tightened. I probably would have approved that service, but would have appreciated being asked rather than finding out about the extra cost when I checked out. This is a minor issue, but feel that it should be discussed.
