Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honest guys- straight forward- highly recommend Took my 04 Xterra in which I knew was going to need a lot of work, they took care of everything immediate and walked me through a plan of what needed to be done when. I trust them taking care of my car, and that says a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality customer care to remedy their mistake I was headed out of town in a few days, so I went into the Scottsdale location to get an oil change and alignment. Dropped it off in the morning, picked it up in the afternoon after work. Pretty routine. Drove home. Next morning I stopped at AutoZone to buy an air filter. Went into work. Drove home. Pulled into my garage, and popped the hood to put in the filter. Smelled a little smokey. Looked under the hood and saw that my oil cap had never been put on!!! Oil had sprayed everywhere and I had no idea how much was still even in the tank. I was pretty livid. I instantly picked up the phone and called Firestone. Jay answered and apologized for the issue, asked that I buy some oil put a quart or so in and bring it back first thing in the morning. First thing in the morning, I walk in and before I even said anything the manager asked if I was the "oil cap issue" and stated that they would power wash my engine, and provide me a new full oil change. I left the car, went to work and picked up at lunch. The manager, Steve, was very apologetic, informed me that the employee who did my first oil change would be receiving disciplinary action and then he gave me a free oil change for the future. To recap, Firestone almost messed up my engine, from simple negligence, in the end they rebounded nicely and provided great customer service to remedy the situation. I appreciate that. In the end I was able to go on my out of town trip and not worry about my car.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely dissappointed and frustrated I have an older, high mileage car (1997, 205K) which I took into Firestone for a 5,000 mile oil change. The car was running very well and driving decently at the time. After the oil change they brought me out while the car was still on the lift to show me that, during their courtesy check, they found that the tie rods needed servicing as they had degraded to the point of being a safety issue. I explained that this old car was not a vehicle into which I wished to put a lot of money so I would have to think it over. A few days later the check engine light came on. Thinking that this may be related to the oil change, I stopped back by the garage and asked that they check it out for me. I was very surprised by the three digit fee for the diagnostic given that my car had been in their shop a few days earlier and that a current radio advertisement is touting this service for free elsewhere, but I agreed. Their diagnosis was a bad thermostat so I asked them to fix it telling them that I would come back for the car the next day after I got off work. After spending the night mulling it over in my head, I called the shop the next day and asked them to go ahead and also complete the repairs that they had suggested to the tie rods. They called me later that day that the repairs were complete so I stopped by after work, paid the bill, grabbed my car and headed for home. As soon as I pulled onto the main road I could tell that the car was not driving correctly. It is a short drive to my house but it was obvious to me that the suspension felt like it was non-existent. After crossing over every speed bump at my complex the front end of the car would drop like a rock with a bang and a shudder. I did drive it to work one time to give it a fair assessment, but it was so bad that I immediately took it back to Firestone and asked that they double check their work as my car was driving horribly. After checking it again for me I was advised that there was nothing wrong with the work performed but that I now needed to replace the struts at an additional cost which would double what I had already spent. I am aware that I have an old, high mileage car and things are definitely going to break. But it is unprofessional in the extreme, in my opinion, to pretend like the problems that arose did not occur while the vehicle was in their care. The car was driving well when I dropped it off (acknowledging that there was some drift to the steering) and riding like a child?s red wagon when I picked it up. And to send me down the road in a car in this condition without even so much as mentioning the damaged struts is simply unconscionable. Not a word was said. The relationship between the automotive repair shop and the vehicle owner is one that is necessarily based on trust. I mean, what exactly can I, a non-mechanic, actually tell about the service that was done? I can see that the check engine light is no longer lit, I can see that the oil on the dipstick looks clean and new, and I can tell that the car drives exponentially worse after they ?fixed? it than it did when I dropped it off. It appears that, unfortunately, that trust can no longer exist. Now, I am not a guy who goes online and writes a lot of reviews either complimentary or critical. In fact, I can?t remember ever having done so. It was Firestone, however, who sent me a link asking that I review the service which I received and, having been offered no other avenue of recourse, now I have done so.
