TPMS: Tire Pressure Monitoring System
THE ULTIMATE DRIVING EXPERIENCE DEMANDS THE ULTIMATE HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRE
High speeds? Sharp corners? Damp roads? High performance tires (or summer tires) keep up. Designed for dry performance and a superior driving experience, high performance tires deliver enhanced traction during acceleration and unparalleled handling, grip and cornering. Capable of autobahn speeds, summer tires always deliver in high performance conditions.
Summer Tires vs. All Season Tires vs. Winter Tires
Just as winter tires are designed to excel in cold weather on slick roads, summer tires are designed to excel in warm weather. All-season tires are designed to function with both climates. If you drive under blue skies free of sleet and snow, and desire the ultimate driving experience, high performance summer tires are the tires that will deliver the ultimate driving experience. With high lateral stiffness, large tread blocks and wide circumferential grooves, high performance tires offer:
- High resistance to hydroplaning
- Unequalled stability on dry and wet roads
- Reduce Tire Noise
- Unsurpassed smoothness
When it comes to selecting car tires, where you live and the weather you drive in are critical factors. Talk to one of our tire and auto service professionals and they will help you choose the right tire for you. Whatever you need, you’ll find it at Firestone Complete Auto Care.
High Performance Tires: Overinflation and Underinflation
When it comes to high performance tires, overinflation and underinflation have a direct effect on driving performance. Slight overinflation decreases rolling resistance, gives your vehicle a stiffer ride, reduces tire life and increases the possibility of impact damage on the tire. Slight underinflation will reduce tire life, increases rolling resistance and decreases fuel economy. Most vehicles are equipped with TPMS sensors and help keep tire inflation in the correct range. Always follow the vehicle’s manufacturer recommendation for proper tire inflation, which can be found in the vehicle’s owner’s manual or on a placard placed on the inside of the driver’s side door.
