HOW TO TELL IF YOUR TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED
Even the most well-maintained car tires need repair or replacement from time to time. If your car shows any of these symptoms, you likely need tire replacement or repair services to keep things running smoothly.
- Visible damage like cracks, bulges, or embedded objects
- Tire hissing or rapid pressure loss
- Excessive vehicle vibration or loss of traction when driving
- Low tire tread depth or uneven wear
- Repeated low tire pressure/TPMS warnings
SAFETY NOTE: If your tire looks flat or you drove on it while flat, the sidewall may be compromised. If it’s an emergency, stop driving and call Firestone Complete Auto Repair. We’ll inspect and advise that replacement may be required.

WHAT QUALIFIES: Single punctures in the tread, ≤ 1/4″ (6 mm), not overlapping another repair, and with the inner liner intact.
WHAT DOESN'T QUALIFY: Tire sidewall or shoulder damage, large or irregular gashes, or tires with 2/32″ tread. These issues require a tire replacement.
INCLUDED CHECKS: We will always check your valve stem, bead seating, and tire balance, and advise if TPMS service is needed.
AVERAGE TIRE REPAIR SERVICE TIME: After inspecting your tire, we'll confirm any needed services with you for your approval. Service time will vary depending on needs.
SERVICE INTERVAL: It's recommended to have your vehicle’s tires inspected annually for potential damage and needed repairs.

Tire Repair Faqs
Have questions about tire repair service at Firestone Complete Auto Care? Here’s what drivers ask most before bringing their vehicle in for service.
The cost of tire repair depends on the type of repair, the location of the repair, and the type of tire. A simple plug or patch on basic touring tires can be as low as $30, while a more complex repair on specialty performance tires could be more than that.
Tire repair involves fixing a hole or puncture in a tire. The method of repair depends on how it was damaged in the first place, the extent and location of the damage, and the condition of the rest of the tire. Tire replacement involves taking the old tire off your vehicle and installing a brand-new replacement tire. A tire pressure check involves using a tire pressure gauge to measure the PSI (pounds per square inch) of each tire.
Our tire experts will start with a tire inspection and recommend the right tire repair services. Sometimes, the damage is too extensive for repair, and we’ll recommend replacing the tire instead.
No, you don’t need to have a tire repaired if it hasn’t been damaged. If the tread is wearing down evenly on all four tires, you will want to replace them all at the same time, but that is a different service than tire repair.
Get in touch with your local Firestone Complete Auto Care to find out if they offer the tire repair service you need. They will start with an inspection to assess the problem before recommending tire repair or replacement.
