Rated 5 out of 5 by from very helpfull The store had already closed for the day when we pulled in to the lot ,with our tire loosing air . We had picked up a nail on I70 . They offered to repair it until the Tech. checked it and found the nail was in the corner of the sidewall . Couldn't repair , had to be replaced . I agreed , with luck they had one in stock . The repair was swift and they were very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last Minute Appointment I called Firestone on Iowa in Lawrence Kansas in the morning on Labor Day. I was hoping to get tires for my wife's car sometime that week. The store manager McKinley said "come on in, let's get those tires today"! 4 hours later, I drove the vehicle home to a very happy wife! Thanks Firestone for making me look good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT SERVICE; GREAT STAFF; A+++ What a great, professionally run and yet friendly, honest place. I've been using this Firestone Complete Auto Care operation for a long time. They've never let me down. Not once. And, if they believe a particular job is a tad bit more expansive than they'd prefer to tackle (largely due to parts availability when dealerships control access to certain parts), they'll straight away let you know. Had an oil change done today and now see I've never given Firestone the credit they've earned here in writing on YELP!. Here we go.... The General Manager, McKinley, is a super nice guy and topping that off is his vast knowledge of cars and trucks, be they with a 100k miles (and more) or brand new off the show room floor. McKinley never tries to upsell you for work or parts you don't need and he's trained his mechanics to not recommend doing that either (see what happens at some of the other joints in Lawrence). The quality of work this Firestone Complete Auto Care facility does is top notch and is done right the first time 99 times out of one hundred and on that rare occurrence when something just didn't go right, they'll get it done right fast, and how and with an apology. They back up the warranties on all the parts they sell and if you plan on keeping your car, it's always a good idea to spend just a little bit more and get the package with the lifetime warranty. Sometimes I don't get how this operation can make money: I have lifetime alignment, as an example. The guys very cheerfully check out the alignment whenever I request it....even if the car has only gone 4,000 miles since the last check. I had a wheel cylinder replaced because an idiot light kept coming on and despite their best efforts, that light would go off after they'd worked on it and then a few weeks later come back on. Not to worry: The warranty took care of everything and they even boosted me up a couple of notches quality wise relative to that particular wheel cylinder on the replacements. Too, there was no hemming and hawing about getting me in for an appointment: I went to the top of the list and the car was back in the shop in a blink. The free safety checks just aren't an effort to find problems so they can sell service and parts: They'll let you know when stuff is within factory/OEM limits and will not try to scare you into buying something. They'll get a note in your record and just monitor which is not much different than the way a good doctor handles patients. Firestone is constantly putting on promotions and discounts and coupons. Great deals, all of 'em. Having their credit card automatically gets one a discount on oil changes and on many purchases will enable you to stretch out paying for repair over six months (or however long the current promotion is running) at 0% interest. Tire rotations and wheel balancing's are a cake walk (a guy or gal has to be pretty silly NOT to purchase the road hazard; lifetime balancing; and alignment when buying tires, by the way....and yes....I have Firestone tires on the car. Firestone does have great tires and great deals. While the tire may not be that store, they can get it there typically within a few hours. This Firestone operation is locally run and managed with each and every one of the mechanics and the manager residents of our extended community. You ARE "shopping/buying local" when you use a National chain like Firestone because the employees are all from around here. I've been going so long the mechanics know me by first time and even know not to move the electric drivers seat when getting the car into the service bay! McKinley will work with you on pricing pretty much anything. He's not a "salesman" with the 900mph motor mouth "Trust me...." spiels" and he backs up all the work his shop does with no questions asked. Heck, their computer system even keeps tracks of your warranties and what services you've bought which are "...for life...". Firestone in Lawrence is where to go to get your work done. Topping it all off: There are Firestone Complete Auto Service Centers across the USA meaning the work done on your car and the warranties you have on that work and the parts travel with you (it's always good to have the paperwork on your part) so if your car breaks down when on a road trip and it involves anything associated with the work Firestone did, you've a friendly shop to locate. Yes, we have a lot of auto repair places to pick from in Lawrence, but none offer the services, the professionalism, the paper trail, the documentation, or the quality of work this Firestone provides. You're being very foolish if you, at the very least, don't get a price quote from them. Oh yeah....get a written price quote from another legit operation in town, and Firestone will meet or beat it.
